Prep students access Specialist Visual Arts classes each week
for 60 minutes, throughout the school year.
Students in the junior, middle and senior classes access Specialist
Visual Arts classes each week for 60 minutes per week, for two
terms. (Term 1 & 3 or Term 2 & 4)
This
program provides the children with opportunities to creatively
express themselves through a variety of media and experiences
in:
Drawing (variety of media, ie chalk, pencil, charcoal,
crayon, ink)
Painting
Printing
Collage
Construction
Modelling
Sculpture (using ceramics, plaster)
Ceramics
The
Specialist Art teacher will attempt to incorporate the
themes of classroom Integrated Unit topics into the Visual Art
program.
Celebration
of the Arts
Each
year in November the school conducts its annual Celebration
of the Arts.
A major feature of this celebration is the Visual Art Show.
This is a
week long display of the students artwork created during
their weekly Visual Arts sessions throughout the school year. This
artwork is displayed in the schools Market Square hall, and
parents
and other members of the public are encouraged to visit the school
and view the display during this week.
