Year 6 - 7 Transition
During
term two each year the secondary schools in the Sale area usually
arrange for the Year 7 coordinators, accompanied by two year seven
students, ( who are ex- students from 545) to visit our school
to talk to the year 5 & 6 students about the programs offered
at their schools.
The
local secondary schools conduct information Nights, Open Days
during the early part of term 2 each year.
In
early May the families of Year 6 students are provided with a
Gippsland Region - Student Placement Form. This form is to be
returned to the primary school by the end of term two indicating
the parents' choice of secondary school for their child for the
following school year. (The Sale Primary School is then required
to forward this information to the individual secondary schools
and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Education)
The
various secondary schools also provide opportunities for students
to sit exams for a range of programs in term 2 and term 3:
During
November each year Sale College, Catholic College Sale and Gippsland
Grammar all conduct orientation programs for their prospective
Year 7 students. These range from one to three days duration,
depending on the secondary school.
Grade
