Kinder Prep - Transition
During
term 2 each year the Sale Primary School Prep teaching team arrange
'Kinder Visits', inviting all kindergartens to bring their classes
in to the school to spend some time in our Prep classrooms and
look around the school.
Early
in term 3, we hold our Prep Information Sessions
In
term 4, in November, we conduct a four week Prep Orientation Program
for students who have enrolled at the school for the following
year. Students attend for an afternoon to spend time in the Prep
classrooms participating in Prep activities, and becoming familiar
with the teaching staff, and their surroundings.
In
December the Prep teaching team teachers visit all Kindergartens
in the Sale area to discuss with prospective students with Kindergarten
teachers. This provides valuable additional information to ensure
that the classroom combinations are developed with the maximum
amount of knowledge of students academic skill levels and social
development.
Late
in term 4 all parents of prospective Prep students are forwarded
a letter indicating the Prep class that their child has been allocated
to for the following year based upon the information collected
on the students based on the fore mentioned activities.
