The Sale Primary School '545' has actively sought to improve the learning environment for its students over the past decade, focusing on both facilities upgrades to buildings and equipment, as well as improvements to the school grounds.

The school has had a number of new buildings constructed during this period, funded through a combination of state and federal government grants, and complemented by the school's establishment of a building cooperative, and significant local fundraising by the 545 School Council and Parent Club.

Improvements to the learning environment in recent times have been:

• 8 new classrooms
• 'Market Square' Gymnasium/Hall
• New Music Room, School canteen, Physical Education store and office
  
• Gymnasium/Hall toilets and change rooms
  
• Air Conditioners provided to all teaching spaces.
  
• Replacement of carpets and vinyl in all 'established' teaching spaces
  
• Provision of 100 personal computers for student use in classrooms
  
• Establishment of a computer 'lab' in the school's library for prep & junior students
  
• Provision of four trolleys of 10 laptop computers for middle and senior students
  
• Provision of Interactive Whiteboards in Prep and Junior classrooms

Improvements to the school grounds in recent times have been:

• Redevelopment of the school's student toilets
  
• Provision of new school 'safety' fencing surrounding the school
  
• Covered walkways to link buildings
  
• Re- asphalting of all hard surface play areas in the school
  
• Creation of new School Entry and Bus Shelter
  
• Creation of new concrete paths
  
• Creation of three large adventure playgrounds, complete with shade shelters
  
• Construction of two bike enclosures
  
• Redevelopment of the schools senior oval, complete with automated irrigation system
  
• Provision of senior yard rebound wall and cricket nets
  
• Provision of additional drink fountains in three sections of the school grounds
